Odd Things About Baseball Uniforms From A Weather Perspective

Major League Baseball players are called "the boys of summer." As my wife and I watched her beloved Atlanta Braves play the Washington Nationals last night I glimpsed at the Washington Post Capital Weather Gang Twitter feed. It warned,
Be prepared to sweat in the mugginess

They were right. Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg was sweating profusely. He was soaked. The mid-August Washington DC heat and humidity were clearly having an effect on his performance as well. I wasn't the only one that seemed to notice. The Washington Post headline this morning reads,
Stephen Strasburg, Nationals wilt in the heat, fall to Braves, 8-5
