£4m 'prototype fund' to boost UK games


The UK's games industry has been given a shot in the arm thanks to a £4m investment designed to kickstart new projects and create jobs.

The UK Games Fund, which was announced in July's budget, has been revealed. It will see developers awarded grants of up to £25,000 to produce new ideas into working proofs-of-concept, which can then be used to attract further private investment. The scheme is run by the newly established UK Games Talent and Finance CIC, which is run on a not for profit basis, and will not ask for a capital share in produced games.
