Back To The Future's Enduring Technological Lure

Back to the Future Part II’s October 21, 2015 setting --- with its hoverboards, Google-esque virtual glasses, and flying cars --- still remains a tad beyond our current technological reach. But the film trilogy’s first and third installments, both of which take us back in time, are arguably more indicative of the kind of can-do American triumphalism for which we as a nation still yearn.
