Django Unchained apparently struck a chord with director Quentin Tarantino. The 2012 western was a critical and commercial hit for the film maker, and the influence can clearly be felt on his latest movie, The Hateful Eight.
The trailer for the new movie, due for release this Christmas, shows a very different tone to Django though. The film is set after the American Civil War, and focuses on eight strangers trapped in a stagecoach stopover atop a mountain, seeking refuge during a blizzard. Expect more of a locked-room pot-boiler than a far-reaching trek for vengeance.
