An algorithm that mimics the styles of some of history's greatest painters has been developed by researchers in Germany.

In the study, which has been submitted to Nature Communications, a complicated mathematical code was devised in order to create a "convolutional neural network", capable of turning images into imitation works of art in just an hour.

Pokémon Shuffle Mobile comes to Android and iOS

Pokémon Shuffle is now available on Android and iOS devices, making it the first Pokémon game to be released on smartphones outside of Japan.

The match-three puzzler has been available on Nintendo 3DS since February, where it was one of the publisher's first experiments with freemium gaming models. The game can be played for free, earning coins and jewels as you go, or buying them through micro-transactions. These can then be spent on in-game boosts or extra lives.

London bans unsafe HGVs after rise in cycling deaths

National Crime Agency website offline after hacking arrests
