Merge VR brings mobile virtual reality for just £50



With consumer level virtual reality on the horizon, the prospect of plugging yourself into digital worlds has never been closer. It's going to be pricey though, with the likes of Oculus Rift and a system capable of running it rumoured to set you back around $1500. But what if your VR budget is significantly less -- say under fifty quid?

Well, you're in luck, as that entry level price bracket is exactly what Merge VR is offering, with a headset due to retail at £49.99. The Texas-based company announced its entry into the UK market this weekend, debuting to crowds at Insomnia55. WIRED.co.uk went hands on with the device, and spoke with Merge's Taryn Saavedra about future plans both real and virtual.
