Bastion of British entertainment the BBC is fast approaching its centenary, and current director-general Tony Hall is readying the organisation for the next generation. Hall today announced a swath of changes that he says will make the BBC "more open" and allow it to "thrive in the internet age".
Since the very earliest days of the internet, the BBC has actively embraced the new opportunities to connect with audiences and it has kept itself relevant by building iPlayer, the country's best-loved streaming and on-demand TV product.[ImageLibrary##291096/Any]
