As designers we usually turn to different sources of inspiration, but, well, sometimes the best inspiration lies right in front of us. With that in mind, we embarked on a special creativity mission seven years ago: to provide you with inspiring and unique desktop wallpapers every month. Wallpapers that are a little more distinctive than the usual crowd and that are bound to fuel your ideas.
We are very thankful to all artists and designers who have contributed and are still diligently contributing to this mission, who challenge their artistic abilities each month anew to keep the steady stream of wallpapers flowing. This post features their artwork for September 2015. Both versions with and without a calendar can be downloaded for free. It’s time to freshen up your desktop!

One sunny morning in the summer of 2014, I was sitting in a café having just finished an hour-long call with my remote team. Scheduling that call had been a messy exercise: we live in different time zones and it was hard to find a time that worked for everyone. I wanted to make dealing with time zone differences less painful.
I had some free time on my hands, so I pulled my notebook out and started playing around with an iWatch app idea. Yeah, you read that right — 2014 and iWatch, before a watch had ever been announced.

The responsive design revolution is truly upon us (if it hasn’t already happened!), and even though e-commerce websites haven’t picked up responsive design quite as aggressively as in other industries, it’s becoming increasingly popular.
So far, most of the responsive design thinking has revolved around covering the range of experiences from mobile to desktop. Yet little attention has been paid to the opportunities for expanding that range beyond the standard desktop screen, to create an experience optimized for modern large-scale displays.

Disney Infinity 3.0 review: The Force is waning
Another year, another entry for Disney's living toys megalith. The big hook for this third instalment is the arrival of Star Wars characters to the shared universe, with the starter kits being themed around the Clone Wars era.
Along with figures of the youthful Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano, the base set comes with the 'Twilight of the Republic' story pack. It's a decent length adventure in its own right, with a now-familiar blend of linear platform/action gameplay. Ahsoka ultimately feels to have the better range of abilities once you've levelled her up a little, though Anakin can more than hold his own against the forces of General Grievous and Darth Maul.

The game series has been growing in prominence since it debuted as something of a sleeper hit in 2009. Its blend of fast-paced run-and-gun combat, endless loot, and warped sense of humour won it an ardent following, and has since expanded through several shooter sequels and a story-driven episodic adventure spin-off from Telltale Games.

Michael Fassbender doesn't just count X-Men enemy/ally Magneto among his geek cred roles -- he's also the lead actor and an executive producer on the upcoming live action Assassin's Creed movie.
Based on Ubisoft's long-running stealth action gaming series, the live-action adaptation has been in the works since 2011. Despite delays, it's going ahead, and the first look at Fassbender in costume has now been revealed.
